カーティン大学は1986年に西オーストラリア工科大学から大学に昇格した公立研究大学で、オーストラリア初の工科系大学の一つである。西オーストラリア州パースのベントレーにメインキャンパスを構え、マレーシア、シンガポール、ドバイにも海外キャンパスを展開するグローバルな大学である。QS世界大学ランキング2025年版では世界174位にランクインし、特に鉱業・鉱物工学の分野では世界2位という卓越した評価を誇る。西オーストラリア州は世界有数の鉱業地域であり、この立地を最大限に活かした産学連携が同大学の強みである。工学、ビジネス、健康科学の分野でも高い評判を持ち、卒業生の就職率はオーストラリア全大学の中でも上位に位置する。奨学金制度としてCurtin International Scholarshipがあり、Merit Scholarshipでは授業料の最大25%が免除される。パースはオーストラリア西海岸最大の都市であり、美しいビーチと温暖な気候が魅力である。シドニーやメルボルンに比べて生活費が抑えめで、治安も良好とされる。鉱業・資源工学に興味がある学生はもちろん、実践的な工学やビジネス教育を求める学生にとっても、カーティン大学は検討に値する進路である。
