大学概要
マードック大学は1973年に西オーストラリア州パースに設立された公立研究大学である。パース南部のマードックに327ヘクタールの広大なメインキャンパスを有し、オーストラリア有数の自然豊かなキャンパス環境を誇る。THE世界大学ランキング2024年版では世界501-600位に位置している。最大の特徴は獣医学の分野での卓越した実績で、西オーストラリア州唯一の獣医学部を擁し、オーストラリア国内でも有数のプログラムとして高い評判を持つ。キャンパス内には動物病院や農場が併設されており、学生は在学中から実践的な臨床経験を積むことができる。また、持続可能な開発と再生可能エネルギーの研究でも国際的に認められており、THE Impact Rankingsではクリーンエネルギー部門で世界トップ100にランクインしている。留学生向けの奨学金としてInternational Welcome Scholarshipがあり、初年度の授業料から最大12,000豪ドルが免除される。パースはインド洋に面した美しい海岸線と地中海性気候を持つ都市で、世界で最も住みやすい都市の一つとして評価されている。難易度は中程度であるが、獣医学部は入学競争が激しい。動物医療や環境科学に情熱を持つ学生にとって、マードック大学は理想的な学びの場といえる。
