ビクトリア大学（VU）は1916年にフットスクレイ工科学校として設立され、1990年に大学として認可されたメルボルンの公立大学である。メルボルン西部のフットスクレイをはじめ、市中心部のフリンダースストリートにも主要キャンパスを持ち、合計7つのキャンパスを展開している。THE世界大学ランキング2024年版では世界401-500位に位置している。最大の特徴はオーストラリアの大学で初めて「ブロックモデル」と呼ばれる革新的な授業方式を導入した点で、学生は一度に1科目ずつ集中的に学ぶ方式により、学習成果と学生満足度が大幅に向上したことが報告されている。この取り組みはオーストラリアの高等教育界で大きな注目を集めている。スポーツ科学ではQSランキングで世界トップ50にランクインしており、メルボルン・ビクトリーFCやウエスタンブルドッグスとの連携による実践的なスポーツ教育が評判である。留学生向けの奨学金としてVU International Scholarshipがあり、授業料の最大30%が免除される。フットスクレイはメルボルンのCBDから電車で約15分の多文化的なエリアで、ベトナム料理をはじめとするアジアのグルメが楽しめる活気ある街である。スポーツ科学を学びたい人、革新的な教育方式で効率よく学びたい人に最適な大学である。
