大学概要
キャンベラ大学は1967年にキャンベラ高等教育カレッジとして設立され、1990年に大学として認可された公立大学である。オーストラリア首都特別地域（ACT）のブルースに位置し、120ヘクタールのキャンパスはブッシュランドに囲まれた自然豊かな環境である。QS世界大学ランキング2025年版では世界484位に位置しているが、THE Young University Rankingsでは世界トップ50にランクインしており、急成長中の大学として注目を集めている。最大の特徴はオーストラリアで最も高い卒業生就職率を誇る点で、Good Universities Guideではフルタイム就職率と卒業生の初任給で最高評価の5つ星を獲得している。スポーツ科学、看護学、教育学が強みの分野であり、特にスポーツ科学ではオーストラリア・スポーツ研究所（AIS）との近接性を活かした連携が強い。留学生向けの奨学金としてUC International Scholarshipがあり、授業料の最大20%が免除される。キャンベラはオーストラリアの首都として計画的に設計された都市で、治安が良く、国立機関や政府機関が集まる知的な雰囲気を持つ。シドニーやメルボルンに比べて生活費が適度で、自然環境も豊かである。実践的な教育で卒業後すぐに就職につなげたい人、首都の知的環境で学びたい人に適した選択肢である。
