フリンダース大学は1966年に南オーストラリア州アデレードに設立された公立研究大学である。メインキャンパスはアデレード市内から南に約12kmのベッドフォードパークに位置し、トンズリー・イノベーション地区に隣接した新キャンパスも開設している。QS世界大学ランキング2025年版では世界382位にランクインしている。最大の強みは医学・公衆衛生の分野で、フリンダース・メディカルセンターとの一体運営により臨床教育と研究を密接に結びつけている。特にRemote Health（僻地医療）プログラムはオーストラリア独自の課題に取り組む先駆的な教育として国際的な評判を持つ。考古学と古生物学でもQSランキングで世界トップ50に入る実力を有する。留学生向けの奨学金としてFlinders International Scholarshipがあり、授業料の最大50%が免除される。アデレードは「20分都市」と称されるコンパクトな都市で、市内のどこへも20分以内でアクセスできる利便性が魅力である。生活費もシドニーやメルボルンより20-30%安い。難易度は中程度だが、医学部は競争率が非常に高い。僻地医療や公衆衛生に関心がある学生、コストを抑えつつ研究型大学で学びたい学生にとって、フリンダース大学は注目すべき選択肢である。
