アデレード大学は1874年に設立されたオーストラリアで3番目に古い大学であり、Group of Eight（Go8）の一員として研究型大学の名門に位置づけられている。南オーストラリア州アデレードの市中心部ノーステラスにメインキャンパスを構え、歴史的な石造りの建築物が並ぶ格調高い学習環境を提供している。QS世界大学ランキング2025年版では世界82位にランクインし、特に鉱業・鉱物工学では世界トップ20にランクされている。5名のノーベル賞受賞者を輩出しており、南半球の大学では最多の受賞者数を誇る。ワイン科学の分野ではオーストラリアを代表する研究拠点であり、ウェイトキャンパスにはオーストラリアで唯一の醸造学専門研究所がある。バロッサバレーやマクラーレンベールといった世界的ワイン産地に近接した立地がこの分野の強みを支えている。留学生向けの奨学金としてAdelaide International Scholarshipがあり、授業料の最大50%が免除される。アデレードは「フェスティバルの街」として知られ、アデレードフリンジは世界第2位の規模を持つ芸術祭である。生活費はシドニーやメルボルンの約70%程度で、Go8大学の中では最もコストパフォーマンスに優れた選択肢といえる。ワイン科学や鉱業工学に関心がある学生、名門大学を手頃な費用で目指したい学生に最適な進路である。
