グリフィス大学は1971年にクイーンズランド州に設立された公立研究大学で、ブリスベンのネイサン、マウントグラバット、サウスバンクの3キャンパスとゴールドコーストキャンパスの計5キャンパスを展開している。QS世界大学ランキング2025年版では世界243位にランクインしている。最大の特徴は環境科学とホスピタリティ・観光学の分野での卓越した実績で、特にホスピタリティ・レジャーマネジメントはQSランキングで世界トップ50に入る評判を誇る。1970年代にオーストラリアで初めてアジア研究と環境科学を学位プログラムとして導入した革新的な大学でもある。犯罪学・刑事司法の分野でも世界トップ50にランクされ、オーストラリア犯罪学研究所との連携が強い。ゴールドコーストキャンパスは2032年ブリスベンオリンピックの競技会場に近接しており、スポーツ科学分野の研究拠点として注目を集めている。留学生向けの奨学金としてGriffith Remarkable Scholarshipがあり、授業料の50%が免除される。ゴールドコーストは世界的に有名なビーチリゾートであり、温暖な気候と豊かな自然が魅力の都市である。観光学やホスピタリティを学びたい人、環境科学に関心がある人にとって理想的な環境といえる。
